ISLAMABAD – Parliamentary leaders of the opposition will meet in the federal capital to discuss and devise their next strategy on the terms of reference (ToRs) formulated to probe the Panama revelations.
While talking to media, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the meeting would take place in Khursheed Shah’s chamber at 3pm and will be attended by the parliamentary leaders of PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and other parties.
The development comes after the government rejected the ToRs proposed by the opposition in a meeting that was presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who said opposition had given one-sided decisions.
The opposition had formulated 15 TORs, and demanded the investigation in to the Panama revelations, which include the names of Nawaz’s sons and daughter, be initiated.
They had also demanded that a judicial commission, led by Supreme Court Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali should submit its report within three months.
